The Department of Mechanical and Industrial at Ryerson University has 36 Faculty memebers and over 100 MASc and PhD students.  The department offers a cutting edge graduate program leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree or a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree for students who are seeking advanced study in a professionally based, applied program that provides opportunities for research in Thermofluids, Manufacturing, Materials, Solid Mechanics, and Industrial Engineering. This allows for interdisciplinary research projects that benefit society at large and positions students to pursue their interests.

Prof. Mohamad Jaber and Prof Patrick Neumann will participate the “Models and methods for efficient age-oriented manufacturing systems” and “Knowledge, management and dissemination” part.Prof. Neumann will provide a special expertise in the design of work systems that are both effective and sustainable from human and technical perspectives, availability for testing at the Human Factors Engineering Lab, Organisational Design and Change Management, Simulation and Virtual Performance Modelling, Performance and Exposure Measurement. Prof. Jaber will provide expertise by developing age-oriented learning curve models that will be investigated in production, inventory, and supply chain contexts by achieving results new and different from what the literature advocates.
